"Scientific and technical fundamentals of the structural-geological and hydrogeological characterization of deep geothermal aquifers using the example of the southern German Molasse Basin"
In addition to our numerous projects in the field of geothermal and hydrogeology, ERDWERK also works in the area of research and development. The collaborative project "Scientific and technical fundamentals for structural geological and hydrogeological characterization of deep geothermal aquifers using the example of the southern German Molasse Basin", which is funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, examines the Malm as a deep aquifer in southern Germany with regard to its hydrothermal development.
Appropriate knowledge of the deeper groundwater system is just as much a requirement for appropriately designed exploration, drilling and operational concepts of individual plants as it is for the design of permit and permit fields. Different geoscientific methods and integrated investigation strategies will be investigated and further developed in this project with regard to their applicability in geothermal exploration. The results should provide a methodical contribution to the development of hydrogeological and numerical flow models, the standardized collection of hydrogeological and geothermal parameters and an optimized assessment of the geological discovery risk with regard to the sustainable use of deep hydrothermal resources. The final report of the research project can be downloaded in full from the Technical Information Library page.
